One of my favorite short stories by Franz Kafka is the story about a hunger artist who works in a carnival side show. His whole act is to starve himself, and many people pass by his location as
he gets weaker and weaker from lack of food. Eventually, he gets to the point where he is no longer of interest to paying customers, and he goes from a position in the show near the main
area to a place in the back near the cages for the big cats. He is now so unappetizing that even they are aren’t interested. Eventually, he has no energy left, and he dies.
That’s the way I feel about this blog. My original intent was to provide a location in which people interested in juicing and exercise as part of a complete health regimen would be able to
communicate; to explain their successes and failures, commiserate with each other, encourage each other and even give each other tips on how to get healthier. So far, I have received just a
few comments and these came very early in the game. So essentially I’m talking to myself, and obviously, I don’t need a computer or a blog to do that.
What I’m going to do at this point is hunker down next to the jungle cats and see if it makes any difference to anybody. If it doesn’t, I’m out of here.
In conclusion, I’d like to say that, if you got anything out of your visit to this blog, leave me a note of encouragement. This lack of feedback is making me feel like Ben Stein in Ferris
Bueller’s Day Off.
Anyone? Anyone? Beuller????
